Finland

Trees and water are the most obvious features of Finland’s natural landscape. Forests cover more than two-thirds of the land, and lakes and rivers account for almost another tenth. In summer there’s plenty of light: the sun does not set at all. The longest days last almost 19 hours.
Finland is, among other things, the world’s leading innovator in mobile phones and telecommunications. Finland is also a country that generates plenty of innovation. In relation to the size of its population Finland has the highest number of patent applications for high technology products and experts in science and technology.

Helsinki

Helsinki is a special destination. Full of contrasts bursting with activity and full of friendly people. The northernmost of all European Union capitals, it successfully merges nature’s beauty with high technology innovations, and blends old traditions with new millenium progress. Helsinki is a compact area, where distances are short and easily accessed on foot. Public transport – buses, trams, metro work well so it is easy to get from place to place. Helsinki is a modern capital that is both youthful and relaxed and where friendly people always feel themselves at home.
