TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS


FOR FULL PAPERS


Requisite:
Full Papers can only be submitted by authors who have passed the first step of our Call for Papers by having an abstract approved by the Steering Committee.

Format:
Papers should be prepared in Word format, using 11 point Times New Roman Font, single line spacing and 25mm margins at the sides of each page. Power Point and “pdf” formats will not be taken in.

Executive summary and length of the paper:
Each Paper should begin with an Executive Summary of no more than 150 words. All notes and references should be at the end of the paper and not as footers at the bottom of each page. The total length of each Paper should have minimum of 3000 and a maximum of 7000 words (plus slides, graphics or illustrations).

Cover sheet information:
Each Paper should be fronted by a cover sheet included at the end of this document, clearly stating the Author’s name and full contact details; the particular session in the Conference programme for which the abstract has been approved, and a formal declaration that the author (or his nominee presenter) is fluent in English, and authorizes the conference organisers to publish the paper in the XXIII IASP World Conference Proceedings. (see the end of the document).

Language:
Papers must be submitted in English. For oral presentation of the paper the official Language of the Conference is English.

Deadlines:
Papers should be submitted before the 15th April 2006, to the following address: iasp2006papers@iasp.ws
Authors of selected Papers will be notified by the 3rd May 2006.

Selection of full papers:
The Steering Committee will finish the final evaluation from the 15th April to the 3rd May 2006 after which authors will be advised of whether their paper has been selected or not.

The submitted Papers will be evaluated by the Conference Steering Committee, according to the following criteria:
  • Papers will be selected on the basis of how closely they adhere to the Conference topic; the clarity of exposition; the proficiency of the English language of the text; the degree of analytical (as opposed to merely descriptive) material included; and the extent to which the contents address matters which are important but less commonly presented in relevant proceedings or publications.
  • Selected papers should NOT be read verbatim to the audience; instead, the most important aspects which the author wishes to highlight should be presented with the use of visual aids, leaving a substantial part of the allotted time for questions and comments from the audience and discussion of the proffered conclusions.

The papers submitted MUST include a cover sheet containing the following information:
